The main drains have sunken, this is due to them initially being installed incorrectly some 15 years ago. The drain run itself was laid with the fall traveling back towards the building, instead of the other way. To remedy this problem the toilet will need to be disconnected and the floor broken up on the inside to expose the pipe work. On the outside of the building a trench will need to be dug back to the main sewer to expose the damage. The pipe work is to removed along with the contaminated soil. The new 4" plastic pipe is lay on a layer of pea shingle laid to fall back to the main inlet chamber. the groundwork is to be reinstated, along with the toilet and inside flooring to match existing. Foundation Building Services have submitted there price, and await the decision.
